I'm having a hard time understanding why sitcoms do not appeal to me these day. Don't get me wrong, I love a lot of the popular sitcoms that are modern, "Friends", "Everybody Loves Raymond" "Acorrding To Jim", etc, but those are only on re-runs these days.
The ones that are current just don't grab my attention.
Opinions?

I'm not a fan of American sitcoms but I love Dramas like CSI:Las Vegas, ER, Bones and Law & Order:SVU etc. Here in the UK I don't watch any of the current sitcoms but one of my favourites from the 90s was "Goodnight Sweetheart".

I've noticed that with people form the UK. They can't stand our sitcoms, but they love our Dramas / Crime Shows. Two of my friends who live there mention it from time to time.
I don't mind the dramas / crime shows from America, but the only one I am a big fan of is NCIS. All the others I'll watch randomly (well when I had cable I watched randomly). Now when I want some crime/drama tv I just put in my NCIS seasons I have on dvd.
Still--nothing as far as the sitcoms go--unless they're reruns of some that recently ended or ended in 2000.
I've never herd of "Goodnight Sweetheart". That's a UK sitcom, correct? What was that one like?

[quote author=admin board=chat thread=26 post=89 I've never herd of "Goodnight Sweetheart". That's a UK sitcom, correct? What was that one like?[/quote] Yes it's a British sitcom a really wonderful and fun series. It's about a guy named Gary Sparrow married to Yvonne who works as a TV repair man. He goes to fix a TV and walks down an alley where he ends up back in the 1940s during WW2. He goes into a Pub and there he meets the barmaid Phoebe. More details here - www.imdb.com/title/tt0106014/

I'm with you both. They're just... I dunno. They're just not as good or funny as the older stuff I watch.
The only sitcom that I really like is Modern Family.
I'm going to check out Goodnight Sweetheart, though. It sounds good.

Ah, gee thanks for those links.
I've heard of Red Dwarf, but for some reason I've never bothered to watch it.
